Reorganization

Jun 03, 2008 11:40 PM | 0
I'm currently working on reorganizing the database. It's been the same structure since I started and I want to make it more relational. I'm working on making separate tables for photos, categories and people. That way it will be easier to say, "hey, I want to look at all head KO's", or "I want to see all the scene with Wonder Woman". Right now it requires you to do a search. I basically want to integrate all my lists, including original art, male KO's, still searching scenes, into one single scene list.

After I finish this I will update the site.

I also have some good original art coming, drawn entirely by me.

Sleepy Comics version 2.0 coming; possible beta testing.

Jun 10, 2008 12:31 AM | 9
I've been hard at work consolidating the Sleepy Comics database and revamping the whole website. I'm very excited about the new site, because it is just so much cleaner and faster. I basically tried to design it so that you can find what you want quicker. In fact, Sleepy Comics v2.0 will be such a big update, a lot of you might be in for a shock. I'm thinking about doing some beta testing before I roll this new site out. If anyone is interested, just leave a comment and I'll send you a link to the new site so you can try it out.

Sleepy Comics v2.0 Release Date Set

Jun 13, 2008 08:12 PM | 2
I've decided on a tentative release date for the new version of Sleepy Comics: Saturday, June 21st 2008. I picked this date because it is the second anniversary of Sleepy Comics. Hard to believe it's been two years already! I'm still hard at work on the new site. A lot of the work has been updating the database, adding scenes, adding people. I added a commenting system, where each scene can have its own comments. I have to warn you though, this new site uses a TON of Javascript and Ajax. You pretty much have to use Firefox 2.0 to see this site work correctly. I mean, it works in IE7 ok, but it's slow and a little buggy. IE6 is just terrible. If this is a problem, I will consider making a normal HTML version. This is why I encourage people to join the beta testing. I don't plan on publicizing the site before June 21st. If you have tested the site give me feedback. I'm afraid once I release this beast it will shock a lot of people.

Version 2.0 Only Days away; Stable in IE7

Jun 18, 2008 12:09 AM | 1
Just a few more days until I'm releasing Sleepy Comics v2.0 to the public. If you received a link to the beta I suggest you go back and try logging in with your username and password. You're allowed to use the new comments and favorite features to test them out.

I'm also pleased to say that the site works better in Internet Explorer 7. I fixed a whole bunch of problems and now it runs just like Firefox. By the way, Firefox 3.0 came out today and it's great! It is really smooth and fast.

Some of the new features of Sleepy Comics v2.0 are:

*Comments on each scene.

*A personal favorites list (called a "Stash")

*Full database integration. EVERYTHING (KO scenes, alerts, pinups, unknown scans, etc) is in one table.

*People associations - meaning, if you click on "Wonder Woman", it will list all of her scenes.

*Live search and faster sorting.

Here is a preview pic for those who are curious about what the new site looks like:

Two Years Later

Jun 24, 2008 09:34 PM | 2
On June 20th, 2006 I launched my blog and a primitive comics database. The comics database was made in Microsoft Word. Two years later, Sleepycomics.com is running the most sophisticated sleepy/bondage database of any kind. Sleepycomics.com currently indexes over 3500 images, more content than any other mainstream bondage site out there. In terms of just knockout scenes, I have indexed over 1,700 scenes. That number is going to rise by a lot, because I am finding scenes faster than I can upload them. As you may have noticed, there was a HUGE update in the KO scenes database. I added dozens upon dozens of scenes, so I am not going to list them all in this blog post. If you click on a category on the sidebar, it will load a list that is sorted by date added, with the most recently added on top. I also have something called an Activity Log that shows all changes I make to the database. If that is still not good enough, I have a Featured list which shows some of my top picks.

One thing I want you guys to do is USE THE NEW FEATURES! I spent a lot of time programming them from scratch, so I want to see people leave comments and favorite scenes. It's really easy and it can be fun too! Also, there could still be some minor bugs with the website, so let me know of any problems. If you don't give me feedback I'll just assume you like the site the way it is. Well that's all I have to say for now. I'm going to go upload some more scenes, because I'm just so backed up right now.
