To the users who haven't purchased art yet: why?

Aug 29, 2012 06:04 PM
I'm not here to shame anybody, I promise! I am actually really happy at how well the store is doing. Having over 50 purchases in a month is good news no matter how you spin it.

But as I've mentioned before, Sleepycomics.com gets over 1,500 different users every day! In the online space, we are a force to be reckoned with. Many sites would kill for the kind of traffic we get.

99% of you haven't bought something from the Sleepycomics.com store yet. That's totally cool. Please trust me, I am not offended at all by this. What I want to do is understand your guys' mentality.

For those 99% of you that haven't made a purchase, why not? Is it because of one of the following reasons?:

  • You don't think the art is worth the cost.

  • You are not interested in the art.

  • You think art should be free.

  • You are trying to save money.

  • You are waiting for someone to pirate the art.

  • You haven't seen a character you like yet.

  • You prefer XYZ fetish instead of what I draw.

  • You can't pay via PayPal.

Give me feedback guys. Increasing sales is my number one goal right now. Tell me what you would pay money for, and I will create it.

Feel free to e-mail me privately at [email protected] too!

Thanks guys!

The main reason for me is that I can't get paypal. I'd probably check at least one out if I could.

@clone when I was a kid, I used this old archaic thing called U.S. Mail. We may one day have to go back to it :-)

What the hell is U.S. mail!?:) Yeah, I've thought of that. The only thing Im worried about is someone in my home seeing me mail it. I wouldn't want them getting suspicious. But I might still do it if I can find a free moment. I'll let you know if I decide to do that.

I bought the Dejah Thoris because it was listed as a unconscious arm carry. I signed up with PayPal to do it. I plan to pick and choose. I like carries, I love Kim Possible and jungle girls. So when you hit on a favorite of mine I'm there.

i would love to see multiple panels, so there's a build up in the story line.

@bobko I will try my best to do that in the future. It's much harder than it seems to churn out more than one panel.

I may try a simpler art style with less fancy shading to save time, if I go down that route.

I intend to purchase every single piece that you produce. Your art is great! Plus, it is a good way to support the site.

By the way,I would love to see one with Panther Girl, or one of my other heroines, sometime.

I'm not interested in the art/the characters to be honest. If other characters come up, I might buy it.

@Blx that's a fair reason. I'll continue improving and adding new characters so one day you will be a customer!

@bobko that would be super kind of you! Make sure you ask the artist if it's okay to grant me a license to sell it.

Red, I base my purchases on the characters first usually. Second would be the method of KO. Other things that may or may not grab my interest are if they end up bound or not or if there's a lady delivering the knockout. Not trying to sound picky, just explaining how my brain works.

I think charging just a buck is a great idea, especially if your generate new art a few times a month. I must say since you started selling, I do check the site more often for new art.

Maybe in the future you could do a poll or something to take suggestions about what kind of pic you might do?

Keep up the great work!
